New Items in the Collection

 Here are the latest item absorbed into the museums collection.

 

'A Selection of Objects'

Loaned to the museum by Cliff Moss, that includes ARP Wardens badge,  Defence medal, Civil Defence Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and a Lancashire Cap Badge

 

'Civil Defence Long Service and Good Conduct medal'

Complete with presentation box, presented to Firefighter Michael Crayston, Auxillary Fire Service. Michael is in the middle of the back row of this photograph. He is pictured with fellow firefighters from the AFS unit Carnforth. To the right of Michael is Cliff Moss, who has also loaned articles to the museum.The items here are on loan to the museum by Jim Crayston and his sister Sue.

  

 

'1920's Nuswifta Vehicle Fire Extinguisher'

Made by J Blakeborough and Sons Ltd, Brigg House, England.'

 

'Set of Three Trophies'

Presented to firemen WF Doncaster for AFS Pump competitions 1956, 1963 and 1957. They are mounted on bakerlite plastic shields. Purchased by me at War and Peace Show 2008.'

 

'Training Manual'

Published in 1949 which includes sections on basic chemical warfare, basic firefighting, basic first aid, basic rescue and basic methods of protection against high explosive missiles. This booklet was given to me at the War and Peace Show 2008.
